Panchagarh Correspondent: Rafiqul Islam, a resident of Tirnoihat Pithakhawa village under No. 2 Tentulia upazila in Panchagarh, has made an unusual claim that the shadow on the moon represents a reflection of the world map.
At a press conference held last Friday after Jumma prayers in a room of Ranchondi Dwimukhi High School, titled “Revealing the Information Given by Allah Ta’ala,” Rafiqul shared his experience with local journalists.
Rafiqul, a stone and sand trader by profession, said he had to leave school after completing primary education. Despite that, he has been engaged in spiritual practice for the past 17 years. He stated that one night, while meditating during a full moon, he dreamt of being near the moon and saw the reflection of the world map within its shadow.
“This is not my own work but the work of scientists,” he said. “Allah Almighty has only given me the opportunity to see the world map. It is mentioned in the Holy Quran and is beneficial for mankind.”
Responding to reporters’ questions, Rafiqul added, “People will never be able to live on the moon. Those who say the earth is no longer habitable, that we must look for life on other planets or buy land on the moon, are deceiving the world.”
He urged everyone not to create confusion over his claim. “Human curiosity knows no bounds,” he remarked. “Allah has allowed me to see what I cannot physically travel to. Anyone with doubts can research this matter or visit me again on a moonlit night — I will explain the position of any country through the world map.”
The event was attended by the Imam of the local Jame Masjid, Ranchondi Kindergarten Principal Sohel Rana, Acting Principal of Ranchondi Dwimukhi High School Idris Ali, Rafiqul’s daughter Khushi Akhter, local representatives, and journalists.
