Protest Held Against Achargaon Madrasa Principal

Nandail (Mymensingh) Correspondent: Sensational allegations of embezzlement, fraud, recruitment business and abuse of power have been made against Md. Abdul Hai, the principal of the traditional Achargaon Fazil Madrasa in Nandail Upazila of Mymensingh. A huge human chain was held on Saturday (October 25) at 11 am on the Nandail-Bakchanda road adjacent to this madrasa, demanding a speedy investigation into these allegations and prompt trial. In the human chain, the vice-president of the governing body of this madrasa, Hannan Mia, the encouraging member Ashiqur Rahman, the donor member Saif Uddin Khan, the guardian members Fazlul Karim and Ashiqur Rahman (Kajal), along with the guardians of the students and the local residents, raised a list of several serious allegations against Adhya Abdul Hai in the human chain. Md. Hannan Mia alleged that Adhya Abdul Hai got a job as an Arabic lecturer in Niviaghata Fazil Madrasa from 1986-1988 using a fake certificate. Later, in 1989, he joined Achargaon Dakhil Madrasa as an assistant maulvi. While this madrasa was at the Dakhil stage, in 1995, despite not having the qualifications as per the Madrasa Manpower Recruitment Policy, he was promoted from assistant maulvi to super by forgery. At that time, Katlipara Alim used a fake index to show his experience certificate from the Madrasa, where he had no activity. But for a long time (1995-2001), he withdrew the salary allowance of the lecturer post despite not having the post of Arabic lecturer in the post of Assistant Maulvi (2001-2005), which is a direct embezzlement of government funds. In addition, there are allegations that while he was on salary as Assistant Maulvi, two teachers of the Madrasa (Emdadullah and Monowar) were appointed as fake principals. In addition, although the Achargaon Madrasa was promoted to the Alim level in 2005, the principal appointed his own nephew Anish as the Arabic lecturer instead of promoting the senior assistant Maulvi. In addition, there are allegations that a clerk was promoted to the post of teacher in violation of the policy and that the BEd grade was added to the MPO of teachers before they passed the BEd. Not only that, Adhyay has been accused of embezzling the tuition fee of the students, fraudulently withdrawing 8 months’ salary allowance from a student named Najma Khatun, and embezzling money by showing expenses of 18-20 lakh taka even though the institution was closed during the Corona period. Even in 2013, he sold 10 percent of the madrasa’s BRS land for 6 lakh taka, the market value of which was about 25 lakh taka. No permission was taken from the government authorities. In addition, there have been allegations of mortgaging 40 percent of the madrasa’s land for 2 lakh taka and not spending that money on development work. The said Adhyay has embezzled money through these corruptions and has built his own multi-storey building and has built assets of over one acre in his name and name. Not only that, even though a case is pending in the court for the wrongful dismissal of the madrasa’s office assistant Md. Anwarul Islam (a neo-Muslim) and illegally giving jobs to his two daughters Sabikunnahar and Ayesha Akhter, Adhyay’s daughters are withdrawing their salary allowance. In this regard, the complainants have strongly demanded that the said Principal Md. Abdul Hai be relieved of his duty and all the embezzled money be returned to the treasury of the madrasa. When contacted, the accused Principal Abdul Hai denied these allegations and said that a dishonest group is making false allegations against him mainly focusing on the recent recruitment of manpower of the madrasa, and there is proper evidence to prove it.
