DSE Begins Week with Broad Decline

The week began with a decline in all major Index on the country’s main stock exchange, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), as trading closed lower on Sunday, the first working day of the week. Prices of 198 companies fell, while overall trading value also saw a slight decrease.

According to DSE sources, on Sunday (October 26), the DSE’s key index, DSEX, dropped by 22.91 points, settling at 5,126 points.

Meanwhile, the DSES index fell by 4.78 points to 1,083 points, and the DS-30 index declined by 11.41 points, closing at 1,986 points.

On this day, shares and units worth Tk 461.56 crore were traded on the DSE, slightly down from Tk 468.61 crore in the previous session.

A total of 399 companies traded their shares and units. Among them, prices rose for 142 companies, 198 saw declines, and 59 remained unchanged.
