Diesel pumping of 7,000 tonnes from india begins

B Mirror Report: The pumping of 7,000 metric tonnes of refined diesel imported from India’s Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) has commenced.

The fuel is being transported via the Bangladesh-India Friendship Pipeline and is expected to reach the Padma Oil PLC depot in Parbatipur, Dinajpur.

According to officials, pumping started around 8:30 pm Bangladesh time from the Numaligarh Refinery in Assam. It will take approximately 65 hours for the entire consignment to arrive at its destination.

Meghna Petroleum Limited Manager (Operations) Kazi Md. Robiul Alam said the current shipment includes 7,000 metric tonnes of diesel and the supply process is progressing as planned.

He also noted that there is no shortage of diesel in the country at present, with sufficient reserves ensuring a stable supply situation.

In the next phase, an additional 5,000 metric tonnes of diesel will be imported. A total of 25,000 metric tonnes of diesel import has been planned for this month, of which 13,000 metric tonnes have already been received in two earlier consignments.
