Former Pubali Bank Chairman Moniruddin Ahmed no more

Former Chairman and former Director of Pubali Bank PLC, eminent educationist and renowned social philanthropist Moniruddin Ahmed passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2026 at 2:00 PM (Bangladesh time) while undergoing treatment at a hospital in London (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun).

The Board of Directors of Pubali Bank PLC along with all executives, officers and employees are deeply shocked and saddened by his death.

At the time of his death, he is survived by his wife, son and daughter, numerous relatives, colleagues and well-wishers. Moniruddin Ahmed is the founder of the famous Monir Ahmed Academy, a private cadet college.

The late Moniruddin Ahmed was the former Chairman (2001-2002) of Pubali Bank, the largest private sector bank in the country. He also served as a Director of this bank from 1984 to 2025.
