B Mirror Desk : Bangladesh’s frail economy has been able to recover thanks to the assistance of foreigners, according to Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Chief Advisor to the interim administration. He made this statement on Thursday, April 24, while meeting with Bangladeshi expatriates in Doha, the capital of Qatar. Professor Yunus stated, “You (expatriates) are the reason we have been able to stand firm today,” alluding to the precarious economy that was left in place when he into office. We couldn’t have turned around again without your assistance. You shouldn’t ever feel alone with us.
“Expatriates would be granted VIP services at the airport,” he stated, guaranteeing that services for foreigners would be made easier. We’ll set things up so that foreigners can travel to and from the nation in peace and comfort.”
At the same time, businesspeople called for lower cargo fares for air freight. The Chief Advisor responded by stating that we have taken action to expedite air travel and lower freight rates as soon as possible. We are also working on making it easier to move cargo from the airports in Chittagong and Sylhet in addition to Dhaka.
According to him, passenger transportation is typically prioritized. Now, nevertheless, we are focusing especially on-air freight transportation.
Dr. Yunus stated that the government will need to advise the expats in this regard because all services, including passports, are now provided online.
