The 46th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Meghna Petroleum Limited was conducted online on February 15. At the AGM, a cash dividend of 170 percent was granted.
Farzana Momtaz, the Honorable Chairman of the Company’s Board of Directors and Secretary of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh’s Power Division, chaired the meeting. A sizable portion of the shareholders attended the meeting online.
Also present in the meeting were Ummul Hasna, Secretary (Retired) and Independent Director, MPL Board; Md. Abdullah Al Mamun, Secretary (Retired), Independent Director, MPL Board; S. M. Moin Uddin Ahmed, Additional Secretary (Planning), Energy and Mineral Resources Division and Director, MPL Board; Md. Ziaul Haque, Additional Secretary (Administration), Energy and Mineral Resources Division and Director, MPL Board; Rawnak Jahan, Joint Secretary, Finance Division, Ministry of Finance and Director, MPL Board; Dr. Md. Ali Ahmed Shawkat Chowdhury, Professor, Department of Chemical Engineering, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology and Director, MPL Board; Md. Abdul Matin, Director (Finance) BPC and Joint Secretary to the Government and Director, MPL Board; Zeyad Rahman, Representative of Delta Life Insurance PLC and Shareholder Director, MPL Board; Md. Tipu Sultan, Managing Director, Meghna Petroleum Limited and Director, MPL Board and Company Secretary Reza Md. Riazuddin participated.
In their statements, the distinguished shareholders, who attended the aforementioned Annual General Meeting online, expressed their gratitude for the company’s numerous developmental initiatives and wished it continued success and prosperity. The company’s Board of Directors, officers at all levels, and staff were thanked and commended by the shareholders for generating a profit after tax of Tk 542.29 crore and earnings per share of Tk 50.11 lakh during the 2023–2024 fiscal year.
