Today marks the beginning of this year’s District Commissioner (DC) Conference. Wednesday, February 18, marks the conclusion of the three-day conference. The Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital serves as the conference’s primary location, just like it did the year before. There will be 354 proposals presented at this conference.
There will be 30 working sessions with different ministries and departments at this year’s conference. There will also be four special sessions. The inaugural ceremony, a meeting with the Chief Justice, an open dialogue with the Chief Advisor, and a meeting with the Bangladesh Administrative Service Association are all included in the special sessions. But this time, in spite of the custom, the President did not receive a courtesy call from the DCs.
On Sunday, February 16, at 10:30 a.m., Dr. Muhammad Yunus will open the conference in the Chief Advisor’s office’s Shapla Hall. A candid conversation with the District Commissioners will take place.
A meeting with the Chief Advisor of the Bangladesh Administrative Service Association will then take place in the evening. In the evening, dinner will be served.
Cabinet Secretary Sheikh Abdur Rashid stated at a press conference on the “District Administrators’ Conference-2025” held at the Secretariat on Saturday, February 15, that the rate at which the decisions made at the DC conference last year are being implemented has dropped in comparison to previous years. Just 46% of the 2024 conference’s decisions have been carried out thus far.
