World Saadachhari Safety Day celebrated in Noakhali

Noakhali Correspondent: World Road Safety Day was celebrated in Noakhali under the theme ‘Modernization of Roads, Development of Visually Impaired Persons.

To mark the day, a rally was taken out in front of the Noakhali District Commissioner’s office at 9:30 am on Wednesday (October 15).

After the rally, Noakhali Deputy Commissioner Khandaker Istiak Ahmed was present as the chief guest at the discussion meeting chaired by Md. Safayet Hossain Talukder, Deputy Director of the District Social Services Office.

Assistant Director of the District Social Services Office Mohammad Abul Kashem, Assistant Director Mohammad Abdur Rahman, Medical Officer of the Civil Surgeon’s Office Dr. Poppy Kundu, Social Services Officer Md. Jasim Uddin, General Secretary of Noakhali Coastal Care (NCC) A.S.M. Nasim, along with organizers of various social and voluntary organizations were present at the time.

The speakers at the discussion meeting said that the visually impaired cannot be ignored in any way. In the era of information technology, the government is committed to the overall development of this category of people and is committed to making them self-reliant and capable of contributing to national development by transforming them into the desired manpower.

The government is making relentless efforts to develop them. At the end of the discussion meeting, the guests distributed white canes and other items among the visually impaired present.
