Noakhali Correspondent: Like the rest of the country, the Typhoid Vaccination Campaign has officially begun in Noakhali today. The health department has set a target to vaccinate 1,206,613 children aged between 9 months and 15 years under this campaign.
The vaccination program has been launched simultaneously in 4,810 centers across 9 upazilas and 8 municipalities of the district. The campaign will run for a total of 18 days — the first 10 days will focus on educational institutions, while the remaining 8 days will cover permanent and temporary vaccination centers.
The campaign started at 9:00 AM today, with an inauguration held at Noannoi High School in Sadar Upazila. The event was inaugurated by Noakhali Civil Surgeon Dr. Mariam Simi. Also present were Additional Deputy Commissioner Taslimun Nesha, Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Ibrahim, District Education Officer Nur Uddin Md. Jahangir, Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Homayra Islam, along with heads of various district departments.
Speaking at the event, Civil Surgeon Dr. Mariam Simi said, “We are working to ensure that every child in the district is brought under typhoid vaccination coverage. This campaign, which begins today, will continue for the next 18 days.”
