The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) started the week on a negative note, with a significant fall in the key indices and widespread price declines across listed companies.
On Sunday, October 12, the DSEX index dropped by 81.25 points, closing at 5,202. The DSES index fell by 19.46 points to settle at 1,114, while the DS30 index declined by 34.60 points to 1,998.
Market turnover stood at Tk 542.55 crore, slightly up from the previous session’s Tk 530.18 crore. A total of 396 companies’ shares and units were traded during the session. Among them, only 47 saw price increases, while a sharp fall was recorded in 311 companies, and prices remained unchanged for 38.
The broad-based decline signals continued investor caution and selling pressure amid a lack of strong market triggers.
