Two channels named “Capital Drama” and “Capital Music” have started their journey on YouTube under the management of Radio Capital 94.8 FM. Radio Capital will create its own drama and music content for these two channels.
The two channels were inaugurated by cutting a cake at Hall 5 of the International Convention Center Bashundhara on Saturday (May 31) afternoon.
Bashundhara Group Chairman’s Media Advisor Abdul Bari and Secretary Masudur Rahman Manna, Head of Radio Capital Anwarul Alam Sajal, and the drama’s director, actors and actresses were present at the time.
At the event, Masudur Rahman Manna said, “Along with studies and sports, we have an opportunity to work more with the world that we have for entertainment. We are going to start two channels named Capital Drama and Capital Music. Today’s event is to connect with cultural workers through this journey.” He said, “Neighboring countries are far ahead in this regard. We are far ahead in terms of drama. There is an opportunity to take this trend to a stronger place.” This journey is taking into account the plans and instructions of Bashundhara Group’s Honorable Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan. I hope to work a lot with you.”
Abdul Bari said, Bashundhara Group does a lot of service work through various institutions including schools, colleges, madrasas. Every month, about three thousand students are regularly given merit scholarships. Bashundhara Group is starting drama production through Radio Capital. This initiative will play a role in instilling good values among the people and developing a healthy cultural trend.
Radio Capital head Anwarul Alam Sajal said, Capital Drama has started with six productions. Four of them have been completed. Two more will be produced after Eid. In all, 36 productions will come out in a year. These dramas will be for viewers of all ages and classes. He said, in the future, Capital Drama will be the biggest entertainment channel in the country. Many dramas lie on the table due to the lack of good producers. If there is a quality script, Capital Drama, or Bashundhara, will take that work forward.
Zakaria Soukhin of Prajapati Drama said, “In the developed world, corporate organizations come forward in entertainment. But in Bangladesh, it is less. Bashundhara is doing that work.”
Let’s Get Lost director Hasib Hossain Rakhi said, “As young directors, we follow the path of our elders. Bashundhara, or Radio Capital, has been our companion on that path.”
Actor Tausif said, “People try to find the story of life in drama. Let’s get lost in that kind of story. Which Bashundhara Group has given a real form to. Through this, it will support the development of a healthy culture and help expand the scope of work of artists and craftsmen.”
Actress Keya Payel said, “Bashundhara has come forward in the field of healthy entertainment. They will produce more dramas. This news makes us hopeful.”
Four plays and two music videos of Radio Capital were ceremonially unveiled at the event.
Apurba and Tasnia Farin acted in the drama Priyo Prajapati. Tousif, Tatini, Abul Hayat and Dilara Zaman acted in the drama Chalo Hari Jai. Jovan and Naznin Niha acted in the drama Mithi Prem Golo. And Musfiq Farhan and Keya Payel acted in the drama Aayan Daan.
The first drama Prajapati, directed by Zakaria Soukhin, will be aired at 6 pm the day after Eid-ul-Azha.
Two new dramas are coming after Eid. The two dramas will be produced by Shihab Shaheen and Vicky Zahed.
