Tangail Correspondent: A discussion meeting and rally were held in Tangail on Wednesday to mark the 19th World Autism Awareness Day 2026, with the theme “Autism Is Not a Limitation Every Life Is Valuable.”
The programme began with a colorful rally from the Tangail Deputy Commissioner’s office premises in the morning. The rally marched through different roads in the town before concluding with a discussion session at the deputy commissioner’s conference room.
Tangail Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Sharifa Haque attended the event as the chief guest.
Among others, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Sanjoy Kumar Mahanta, Tangail Sadar Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Victor Banerjee, and Medical Officer Dr. Shimu Saha spoke at the programme.
The discussion meeting was chaired by Deputy Director of the Tangail District Social Services Office Md. Touhidul Islam.
Upazila Social Services Officer Ibrahim, Deputy Superintendent of Tangail Government Children’s Home (Girls) Tania Akter, and children with special needs from Tangail Intellectual Disability School along with their guardians were also present at the event.
