Special facilities of 7 banks of S Alam are closed.

In effect, the discussed S Alam Group was taking special benefits from the 7 banks of the country as a special favor of the recently departed Governor Abdur Rauf Talukdar. They were transacting unhindered without keeping negative current accounts in seven banks. However, from today Wednesday (14 August) the group will not be able to cash checks of more than 1 crore rupees, the central bank has informed.

The banks are – Islami Bank Bangladesh, Social Islami Bank, First Security Islami Bank, Union Bank, Global Islami Bank, Bangladesh Commerce Bank and National Bank.

In a directive on Tuesday (August 13), the central bank asked all banks in S Alam to stop this special facility. The new governor. The central bank gave such instructions before Ahsan H Mansoor joined.

Earlier, in November last year, Bangladesh Bank had given a letter warning the banks to stop transactions in this special way. A warning was also given to stop transactions with other banks from December 26 last year if the current account deficit is not met.
