Remittance Inflow Surges 69.8% in First Half of January

B Mirror Report : Remittance coming into Bangladesh has gone up a lot. It grew by 69.8 percent compared to the time last year. In the 14 days of January Bangladesh got US$1,703 million in remittance.

The Bangladesh Bank shared this information on Thursday.

The country got a lot of money from people living in countries last year. During the time the country received $1,004 million in remittances. This is the money that people sent home to the country. The total amount of money the country received was $1,004 million, in remittances.

In the current fiscal year, from July to January 14, 2026, expatriates sent a total of $17,969 million to Bangladesh, compared to $14,780 million during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year, marking a steady increase in foreign remittance inflows.
