B Mirror Report : The meeting between Bangladesh and Nepal ended on Wednesday in Dhaka. This was the Commerce Secretary-level meeting and it lasted for two days. They both said it is necessary to finish the PTA draft text, Rules of Origin and product lists including the Request List and Offer List soon as possible. The Bangladesh team said they think it would be an idea to start the PTA with just a few products at first and then add more products later on. The PTA is very important. They want to make sure they get it right. They talked about the PTA a lot. They all agree that the PTA will be good, for both countries.
So we can move things forward everyone agreed that we should have a meeting of the Trade Negotiating Committee within the three months. The Trade Negotiating Committee meeting will help us finish the PTA draft text, the Rules of Origin and the product lists for the Trade Negotiating Committee. We need to finalise the PTA draft text and the Rules of Origin for the Trade Negotiating Committee. The product lists are also very important, for the Trade Negotiating Committee.
Both countries also agreed to work better to make sure that the things they already agreed on like the Memorandums of Understanding actually happen.
