Uttara Correspondent: Leaders of the Real Estate and Housing Association of Bangladesh (REHAB) on Saturday visited Rupayan City Uttara, a flagship residential project of Rupayan Group, where they praised the development’s modern planning and urged the government to extend greater support to large-scale housing projects.
The delegation, led by REHAB President Dr. Ali Afzal, was received by Rupayan Group Chairman Liaquat Ali Khan Mukul and other senior officials of the company.
During the visit, the REHAB leaders toured various sections of the premium gated community, inspecting its residential developments, modern lifestyle facilities, green spaces, and environmentally sustainable infrastructure. They expressed satisfaction with the project’s international-standard architecture, planned urban design, and integration of open spaces.
Addressing an exchange meeting after the visit, Dr. Ali Afzal said Rupayan Group has played a visionary role in advancing Bangladesh’s real estate sector through world-class developments.
“Rupayan City Uttara is an outstanding example of a modern, planned township. Projects like this can significantly strengthen the country’s housing sector and enhance Bangladesh’s image internationally,” he said.
Calling for government support, the REHAB president said many people are unaware that Bangladesh is capable of developing residential projects of such high quality.
“To implement projects of this scale, the government should extend greater support. With the right policy backing, Bangladesh’s housing sector can stand proudly on the global stage,” he said.
Dr. Afzal also noted that the presence of foreign residents reflects the project’s quality and security.
“Foreign nationals choose safe and well-managed communities. From what I have seen today, Rupayan City Uttara offers a secure and comfortable living environment,” he added.
Following the inspection, REHAB and Rupayan Group representatives held discussions on the current state of the country’s housing sector, its future prospects, and measures needed to ensure sustainable development.
The REHAB delegation included Senior Vice-President Abdur Razzaq; Vice-Presidents Abu Khalid Mohammad Barkatullah and A.F.M. Obaidullah; and several executive committee members and directors.
Among those present from Rupayan Group were Co-Chairman Mahir Ali Khan Ratul, Vice Chairmen Ali Akbar Khan Ratan and Saif Ali Khan Atul, Advisor Captain P.J. Ullah (Retd.), and other senior officials.
