Azad, Lakshmipur Correspondent: After several days of relentless rain, the sun shone brightly on the morning of Saturday, August 9, alleviating all concerns. The dark clouds in the sky vanished, replaced by fluffy white clouds. Meanwhile, the auditorium of Raipur LM Pilot Model High School in Laxmipur, the largest traditional institution in Noakhali, buzzed with the presence of over two hundred outstanding students. In a celebratory atmosphere, a reception ceremony was organized for the students who achieved a GPA of 5 in their SSC and equivalent examinations, under the auspices of the Ex-Student Forum.
A joyful ambiance enveloped the venue as students arrived with their guardians. Seventeen students who attained a GPA of 5 were in attendance, along with 67 other participants, which included 4 cricketers, 1 athletics student, and 45 other distinguished students. The program commenced at 10 am with the singing of the national anthem.
The event was led by Mahbubur Rahman Liton, the headmaster of Raipur LM Pilot Model High School and central teacher leader, while Lion AEM Zahirul Islam, the president of the Ex-Student Forum, presided over the proceedings.
During the event, Dr. Enayet Ulya Patwary, the Dean and Controller of Examinations at the Department of Social Sciences of Chittagong University, described the occasion as a celebration for the talented and stated, “You should be thankful individuals. By showing gratitude to your family, neighbors, homeland, country, and God, you can attain greatness.” Among the attendees were Rotarian Rafiqul Haider Chowdhury, advisor of the LM Pilot Model High School Ex-Student Forum, former student DIG Mahmudur Rahman Selim from the Dhaka Police Division, Brigadier General Jabed Hossain Manju, General Secretary of the Forum, Haruner Rashid, General Manager of Desh Rupantor Advertisement, Secondary Education Officer Touhidul Islam, OC Nizam Uddin Bhuiyan, former Mayor ABM Jilani, BNP leader Nazrul Islam Liton, notable social worker Kamrul Al Mamun, and General Secretary of Raipur Upazila Press Club, journalist Tabarak Hossain Azad, along with guardian Jabed Hossain, and distinguished students Dipta Debnath, Yakub Sinha, Tazrian Binte Belal Raisa, and Shihab Hossain, among others.
Brigadier General Jabed Hossain shared his insights with the students, stating, “You might aspire to be a doctor, an engineer, a teacher, a prime minister, an entrepreneur, or a sportsperson. No matter what your aspirations are, you should strive to achieve your highest ambitions. In doing so, you too can attain your goals. However, it is essential to first be a good human being. Being a human being holds great significance.”
Forum advisor and distinguished industrialist Rotarian Rafiqul Haider Chowdhury remarked, “Everything you hear here should be remembered and valued. You need to cultivate strong self-confidence. Avoid arrogance. Work on enhancing your self-esteem. It is crucial to be humane. Set your goals and work towards achieving them.”
Dipta Debnath, one of the accomplished students, expressed, “Not everyone has the opportunity to contribute to changing the world. The world is evolving. We must also progress. We need to think ahead. Only then can we take part in transforming the world.”
Alongside the motivational speeches from the guests, students and local artists showcased their talents through music, recitations, and dance performances during the event.
