Press conference demanding introduction of advanced medical services

Imran Jhenaidah Correspondent– A press conference was held demanding introduction of ICU, CCU, kidney dialysis, MRI and CT scan services at the 250-bed Jhenaidah General Hospital and the immediate establishment of the specialized hospital proposed by China.

The press conference was organized under the banner of the Jhenaidah Unnayan Sangram Coordination Committee at the Family Zone Restaurant in the city on Saturday morning.

The press conference was attended by the organization’s president Ashraful Islam, general secretary Engineer Abul Bashar, social worker Engineer Kamrul Islam, vice-presidents Abdus Sabur and Abu Saleh Md. Musa, Joint General Secretary Sabbir Ahmed Jewel, Finance Secretary Tajnur Rahman, Organizing Secretary Fakhruddin Munna, Education Secretary Faruk Hossain, Information Technology Secretary Tarek Mahmud, Legal Affairs Secretary Abdul Wahab, Office Secretary Al Amin Hossain, Publicity Secretary Al Miraj and other leaders.

The leaders of the organization said that although the 250-bed General Hospital in Jhenaidah is the main shelter for the health care of the people of the district, it does not have the necessary modern medical services. Due to the lack of emergency medical facilities like ICU, CCU, dialysis unit, MRI and CT scan, about 2.1 million people in the district are being deprived of advanced medical treatment.

They also said that in addition to launching these services, it has become the demand of the hour to quickly set up the proposed specialized hospital funded by China in Jhenaidah. Therefore, the leaders called on the concerned authorities to take immediate effective steps to ensure medical services to the common people.
