Scoot” e-bike ride service launched in Kuakata!

Zahirul Patuakhali Correspondent : To add a new dimension to the travel experience of tourists in Kuakata, a tourist city built on the banks of the Bay of Bengal, “Scoot Kuakata” has been launched, offering electric scooter (e-bike) ride service on a per-minute and per-hour basis.

Kuakata is one of the few places in the world where you can see both sunrise and sunset at the same time. Every day, thousands of tourists from home and abroad flock here to enjoy the beauty of nature and the sea. However, there has been a lack of affordable and safe transportation to explore natural places outside the beach for a long time. “Scoot” was launched to meet that demand.

Fuad Hasan Sifat, the entrepreneur of Scoot Kuakata, said, “Our goal was to create an eco-friendly, safe and easily accessible vehicle so that tourists can travel at their own pace. Once you open an account with a registration fee of just 20 taka, you will get the opportunity to use the service. Later, you can rent a scooter by just showing your mobile number.”

He also said that the charge for the Scoot service is only 2.50 taka per minute and 150 taka per hour. Even if the charge runs out, there is no problem – there is also the facility to pedal the scooter. There are special security measures and environment for women. The service has GPS tracking, so it is possible to monitor the movement of the scooter at all times.

Tourist Md. Nesar Uddin said, “Scooters are not only playing a big role in tourism, but also in local employment. The youth of Kuakata are working at every step, from registration to scooter maintenance.”

Tourist Tarequzzaman said, “Scoot has added a new dimension of modernity to Kuakata tourism. It is becoming popular due to these three qualities: easy, affordable, and safe.”

Tourism businessman Dr. Wahid Shamim said, “Such environmentally friendly and technology-based initiatives can bring about the desired change in our tourism sector.”

Service workers Nesar Uddin and Ashraful said that Kuakata has not only opened up opportunities for tourism but also for local employment. The youth of Kuakata are working in this service, doing everything from registration to scooter maintenance.

Locals hope that such a modern, tourism-friendly initiative will make Kuakata a more attractive destination. Scoot Kuakata is now not just a vehicle, but a new experience.
