B Mirror Report: Considering Sehri and Iftar timings during the holy month of Ramadan, all government, semi-government, autonomous and semi-autonomous institutions across the country will operate under a new schedule starting today, Thursday (February 19).

The Ministry of Public Administration recently issued a notification in this regard.

Under the new schedule, offices will run from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm, Sunday through Thursday, during Ramadan. There will be a 15-minute break for Zuhr prayers from 1:15 pm to 1:30 pm. Friday and Saturday will remain weekly holidays as usual.

According to Bangladesh Bank’s directive, banking transactions will take place from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm during Ramadan. However, banks will remain open until 4:00 pm for official work. Financial institutions will also operate from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm. In both banks and financial institutions, there will be a prayer break from 1:15 pm to 1:30 pm, though transactions may continue through internal arrangements.

Court proceedings will be held from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm, while official court activities will continue from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm. The same prayer break from 1:15 pm to 1:30 pm will be observed in court premises.

The Ministry of Public Administration also stated that postal services, railways, hospitals, state-owned industries and emergency service providers will determine and follow their own schedules considering public interest and relevant laws.
