B Mirror Report: On the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, it has been decided to reduce trading hours by nearly one hour at the country’s two stock exchanges the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) starting today, Thursday (February 19).
It has been announced that during Ramadan, trading at both DSE and CSE will begin at 10:00 am and continue without a break until 1:40 pm. A 10-minute post-closing session will then be held from 1:40 pm to 1:50 pm.
No new price quotations can be submitted during the post-closing session. However, investors will be able to buy or sell shares and units at the day’s closing price.
Until yesterday, according to the regular schedule, trading at the stock exchanges was held from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm. After the Eid holidays following Ramadan, trading will resume according to this regular schedule.
Meanwhile, from today during Ramadan, official activities at DSE and CSE will be conducted from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm. After Eid, official operations at both stock exchanges will return to the usual schedule of 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
