B Mirror Report : Digital financial service provider Nagad, operated under the Bangladesh Post Office, has achieved a new milestone by recording its highest-ever monthly transaction volume in October, totaling Tk 34,705 crore.
In a press release issued on Sunday, Nagad announced the record and extended congratulations to its millions of registered customers. The company stated that since its inception, Nagad has quickly become one of the country’s most popular mobile financial services, showing remarkable growth in both customer base and transaction volume.
The statement noted that government allowance disbursements played a key role in achieving the record. During October, Nagad distributed stipends and allowances to nearly 7.9 million beneficiaries under the Department of Social Services and the Department of Women Affairs. Other significant contributors included cash-in, cash-out, send money, payments, and mobile recharges, which collectively pushed the total transactions to a new high.
Before this, Nagad had reached Tk 34,000 crore in transactions once in March and Tk 32,000 crore in June 2024. The company said these consistent records highlight its contribution to advancing Bangladesh’s digital financial ecosystem.
Nagad Administrator Md. Motasim Billah credited the achievement to teamwork and customer trust.
“Success never happens by chance — it’s the result of collective effort and dedication,” he said. “Nagad is progressing with improved services, ensuring stronger financial security for our customers, whose growing trust continues to drive our success.”
According to the company, October 15 marked the busiest single day of the month, with transactions totaling Tk 1,645 crore.
With this new record, Nagad further solidifies its position as one of Bangladesh’s leading and most trusted mobile financial service providers.
