BM Desk : The government has reshuffled the administration and appointed new secretaries in four ministries. Among them, three additional secretaries have been promoted to the rank of secretary, while one existing secretary has been reassigned to a new post.
Separate notifications regarding these appointments were issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Sunday (November 2).
According to the notifications:
- Dr. Nurunnahar Chowdhury, Additional Secretary of the Energy and Mineral Resources Division, has been promoted and appointed as Secretary of the Ministry of Shipping.
- Bilkis Jahan Rimi, Additional Secretary attached to the Finance Division, has been promoted and appointed as Secretary of the Ministry of Textiles and Jute.
- Md. Shawkat Rashid Chowdhury, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, has been promoted and appointed as Secretary of the Rural Development and Cooperatives Division.
- Meanwhile, SM Shakil Akhter, Secretary attached to the Ministry of Public Administration, has been transferred and appointed as Secretary of the Planning Division.
According to administrative sources, the newly appointed secretaries will soon assume their respective duties. The reshuffle aims to make the government’s administrative structure more dynamic and efficient.
