Experts on personal protective equipment (PPE) claims that low cost PPE and use without following manual would pose life risk for physicians, nurses and volunteers.
“Only two companies in Bangladesh have special sewing machine for PPE who can manufacture scientifically safe PPE for physicians and care givers,” Md. Mashiur Rahman Shoummo, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Armour Polymer Limited told Business Mirror Monday.
Armour Polymer Limited, a sister concern of Bangladesh’s Fakir Group is specially designed and developed to manufacture PPE and other specialized medical apparel.
“Armour Polymer Limited is ready to supply PPE to Bangladesh government. But government agencies are not much interested for our products due to its cost,” Mr Shoummo said adding Armour has a capacity to manufacture a total of 50,000 PPE a day.
Currently Armour is working on a huge volume of PPE export consignment to a big country government, Shoummo added.
Shoummo, requested government agencies and concerned officials not to use low cost PPE at medical and other treatment places because it could cost their lives.
