Journalist Welfare Trust’s support for journalists and students in Kushtia

Abdur Razzaq Kushtia : Scholarships have been awarded to the deserving children of journalists from Kushtia, while financial aid checks from the Bangladesh Journalists Welfare Trust have been provided to journalists in need who are facing illness or financial hardship.

The distribution of checks took place on Thursday, April 3, at 11 am in the meeting room of Chili’s Food Park in Kushtia city.

The event, which was co-organized by the Bangladesh Journalists Welfare Trust and the Kushtia Journalists Union, was moderated by the Journalists Union’s general secretary, Advocate Shamim Ul Hasan Apu, and presided over by Abdur Razzak Bachchu, president of the Kushtia Journalists Union. The principal guest, ABM Rafiqul Islam, Deputy Director of the Bangladesh Journalists Welfare Trust, gave the speech.

Special guests who spoke were General Secretary Zubayed Ripon, Kushtia Press Club President Al Mamun Sagar, and District Senior Information Officer Md. Aminul Islam.

Scholarship cheques were given to 19 gifted journalists’ children and 28 sick and impoverished journalists from Kushtia’s print and electronic media outlets.
