Mrinal Kanti Roy Tangail District Correspondent: Ahead of the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election, joint patrol operations have begun in Tangail involving the Bangladesh Army, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), and the police.
The Army stated that the patrols aim to ensure a peaceful, fair, neutral, and participatory election across Tangail’s eight constituencies.
The joint election patrol formally started on Thursday (February 5) at noon from in front of the Circuit House in the presence of Upazila Nirbahi Officer Shahin Mia. Also present were Additional Superintendent of Police SM Rezwan, Army Captain Redwan, Officer-in-Charge of Tangail Sadar Police Station Ruhul Amin, along with members of BGB.
All law enforcement agencies, including the Army, are working together in coordination. The Army remains fully prepared to protect the people’s voting rights and ensure the safety of life and property. From Thursday onward, regular joint patrols have commenced and will continue until the election process is completed. Such coordinated security measures are expected to boost voter confidence and enable citizens to cast their votes without obstruction.
The Army further informed that the National Parliamentary Election will be held on the 12th of this month. To ensure a smooth election and provide necessary security for voters, joint patrols involving magistrates, the Army, BGB, RAB, Ansar, and the police have started from today. The forces are on maximum alert to prevent any criminal activities or untoward incidents related to the election. These patrols will continue until all election-related activities are concluded.
In Tangail, nearly four battalions of the Bangladesh Army, along with members of BGB, RAB, Ansar, and the police, will remain deployed round the clock on election duty.
