Foreign companies will invest 36 million dollars in Bepza.

British-Ireland-owned company Deltaport Ltd. will set up a clothing factory in Bepza Economic Zone with an investment of 36 million or 36 million US dollars.

The company signed an agreement with the Bangladesh Export Processing Zone Authority (BEPZA) on Sunday (September 22) at the Bepza complex in Dhaka.

Member of Bepjar investment development department. Ashraful Kabir and Junaid Iqbal Umerani on behalf of Deltaport Limited signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations. Bepza Executive Chairman Major General Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman was present at the signing ceremony.

It was informed at the signing ceremony that the foreign-owned company will manufacture 2 crore pieces of protective cloths, work-wear, various types of garment products, PPE, hospital gowns, masks, bed sheets, curtains annually. The factory will create employment opportunities for 5 thousand 980 Bangladeshi citizens.

Bepza Executive Chairman thanked Deltaport Limited for taking the decision to invest in Bepza Economic Zone in Bangladesh. He said that the company can start construction of the factory soon.

Mohammad Farooq Alam, Member of Bepza Engineering Department and ANM Faizul Haque, Member of Finance Department were also present on the occasion.

Note that Deltaport Limited is a subsidiary of Eastport Limited, a garment manufacturing company. Since 2013 the company has been operating their business in Comilla EPZ.
