Fish prices high, relief returned to vegetables.

Vegetable prices have remained stable for three weeks. The price of broiler chicken has also decreased slightly. The price of eggs has decreased slightly. However, the price of all types of fish in the market is increasing. Buyers have to bargain with sellers to buy any fish. Even so, the fish of choice is not affordable. As the reason for the high price of fish in the market, the sellers say that due to the flood, the fish of the fish farmers have been washed away.

On Friday (August 30), it was seen that the prices of all types of fish, including pangas, tilapia, farmed fish, are increasing in the market.

Pangas fish is being sold at Tk 200-220 per kg in the market, tilapia is being sold at Tk 230-250 per kg, cultivated koi is being sold at Tk 240-280 per kg, rue is being sold at Tk 280-350 per kg, katal is being sold at Tk 320-380 per kg.

Chapila at Tk 600 per kg, Sarpunti at Tk 300 per kg, Rupchanda at Tk 700 to Tk 900 per kg, Horn fish at Tk 400-450 per kg, Gulsha Tengra at Tk 500-600 per kg, Tengra at Tk 550-600 per kg, Pabda at Tk 420 per kg. – At Tk 480, Prawns at Tk 650-700 per kg, Boal at Tk 700-800 per kg. Besides, Hilsa is being sold for 1400-1600 taka per kg. All in all, the price of all types of fish is increasing in the market.

Buyers who came to market in different markets of the capital said, “Earlier we were Bengalis with fish and rice. Now it is difficult for ordinary consumers like us to buy and eat fish. The price of fish has been increasing for a long time. No one in the government is paying attention to this. Now the prices of pangas, tilapia, farmed fish for the poor like us have gone up. And good quality fish is not able to buy. The prices of many things in the market have decreased than before, except for the fish market. The increase in the price of fish, there is no way to reduce it.

When asked to know the reason for the increase in the price of fish in the market, the sellers said that the supply of fish in the market is very low. The main reason for this is that fish farmers have been washed away by floods in different parts of the country. As a result, the supply is less than the demand in the market. That is why the price of all types of fish is increasing in the market.
