A Fire has erupted in an area of the Cargo Village at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. Currently, seven units from the Fire Service are engaged in controlling the fire.
The event took place on Saturday (October 18) in the afternoon, as stated by Lima Khanam, the officer on duty at the Fire Service Control Room.
This specific area of the Cargo Village is designated for the storage of imported items. Nevertheless, airport officials have verified that flight services have not been affected by the fire.
Md. Masudul Hasan Masud, the spokesperson for the Executive Director of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, reported that a fire erupted in a vicinity near the Cargo Village. Fire Service, Bangladesh Air Force, and airport authorities’ personnel are all collaborating to manage the situation.
The origin of the fire and the level of damage remain unclear.
