B Mirror Desk: On Tuesday, the Chief Advisor, Professor Muhammad Yunus, met with representatives of the nation’s business associations, led by Peter Haas, Strategic Advisor of the US energy company Excelerate Energy. The State Guest House in Jamuna served as the venue for the summit.
According to a post on the Chief Advisor’s Facebook page, the Chief Advisor met with a group from many US organizations, which was led by Peter Haas, a former US Ambassador to Bangladesh. The delegation included representatives from the US Soybean Export Council, Boeing, Uber, Master Card, Visa, Chevron, Uber, and Meta. Nisha Desai Biswal, a former assistant secretary of state, was also part of the US business delegation.
The US business delegation welcomed the interim government’s progress on economic reforms and the removal of non-tariff barriers to trade. The US business representatives pledged their support for the interim government in building a strong commercial and economic partnership with Bangladesh and maintaining positive and constructive relations with the government.
Principal Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus thanked the executives for the contribution of American companies to the development of Bangladesh. He assured the interim government of its full support in improving the business environment by removing barriers to doing business in Bangladesh.
