B Mirror Report: The overall price-earnings (P/E) ratio of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the country’s premier bourse, increased by 2 percent during the week ended June 18, according to the DSE’s weekly market review.
Data showed that the DSE’s P/E ratio stood at 8.96 points at the beginning of the week and rose to 9.16 points by the end of the week.
As a result, the market’s P/E ratio increased by 0.20 points, or 2 percent, over the week.
The rise in the P/E ratio indicates an improvement in market valuation as stock prices gained during the period, reflecting increased investor confidence in the market.
