DSE Index Rises, But Turnover Declines Further

On the second trading day of the week, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the country’s main stock market, ended with a positive trend in the key indices despite a decline in total turnover.

According to DSE sources, the benchmark index DSEX gained 25.28 points, closing at 5,227 points. The DSES index rose by 2.94 points to 1,117 points, while the DS30 index advanced 11.44 points to settle at 2,009 points.

Although share prices of 230 companies increased during the session, overall market turnover dropped, with Tk 530 crore worth of shares and units traded—down from Tk 542.55 crore in the previous session. A total of 400 companies participated in the day’s trading; among them, prices declined for 120 companies, while 50 companies remained unchanged.
