Chaumuhani Press Club Convening Committee Announced

Yakub Begumganj Correspondent: The oldest traditional Chaumuhani Press Club in Noakhali has formally declared its assembling committee. The former vice-president of the press club, Yakub Nabi Emon, was appointed convener on the evening of Monday, July 7. Furthermore, former treasurer Abdur Rahim and former social welfare secretary Shihab Uddin were named joint conveners.

This 3-member convening committee was revealed by Mustafa Mohsin, the former general secretary of the press club and a current co-op member. A special emergency meeting took place on June 27 at the Kanshful Restaurant in Chaumuhani, chaired by M. Nazir Ullah, the former president of the press club. During this meeting, which was attended by the majority of members, the executive committee that had surpassed its term was unanimously dissolved. Senior journalist Md. Mustafa Mohsin was granted the authority to proceed with the next steps in accordance with the constitution. Consequently, Mustafa Mohsin announced the formation of this 3-member convening committee, aligning with the constitution and the advice of consultants.

The newly established convening committee is tasked with taking further actions within the next three months, which include developing and reforming the Press Club, addressing the long-standing impasse, and completing the election process as stipulated by the constitution.
