Dinajpur Correspondent: In Dinajpur’s Ghoraghat, Professor Sajjad Hossain, Chairman of Singra Union Parishad No. 3, has taken a remarkable humanitarian initiative. He gifted winter jackets to speech-impaired residents—those who cannot speak and are often neglected by their families and society.
On Saturday morning (6 December), ten speech-impaired individuals received these winter jackets at the Singra Union Parishad office.
The joy on their faces was clear as they received the jackets. Many expressed their gratitude through gestures. Several beneficiaries said that Chairman Sajjad not only helps during winter but regularly checks on them throughout the year. He listens to their problems, sorrows, and joys with care and supports them to the best of his ability.
Chairman Sajjad said, “These people are part of my union. People with disabilities are the most vulnerable in society. Their happiness is my happiness. I will always stand by them as much as I can.”
This humanitarian initiative has drawn widespread praise in the area. Locals believe that even a little attention from public representatives can bring major change to the lives of people with disabilities.
