Big debt burden is unfortunate: Finance Adviso

Finance and trade advisor commented that the burden of large debt is unfortunate. Saleh Uddin Ahmed. On Tuesday (August 20), Chinese ambassador Yao Wen and Canada’s high commissioner at the secretariat. He made this comment at a press briefing after a courtesy meeting with Lily Nicholas.

Saleh Uddin Ahmed said, the government will request to increase the interest rate and repayment period of some loans to China. He commented that it is a big pressure for the interim government to start with the huge domestic and foreign debt burden

In the meeting, both China and Canada said that they would give full support to the new government.

The financial adviser said that a large part of the debt taken by the previous government was not negotiated very well, it was not desirable.

In the briefing, the Secretary of Economic Relations Department, Shahriar Siddiqui, said that China has so far waived the debt equivalent to 4 billion dollars, and the country has promised to pay another 7 billion dollars.
