Shinepukur Ceramics fined a huge amount.

Titus Gas Authority has fined Tk 17 crore to Shinepukur Ceramics, a ceramics sector company listed in the capital market. This penalty was imposed due to illegal gas connection found in the factory of this company of Beximco Group.

According to sources, the company has been asked to pay the fine by today (Monday). Titus Gas Transmission and Distribution Company has informed the company that the entire connection of the factory will be disconnected if the money is not deposited.

The company was fined Tk 17 crore in light of the potential loss to the government due to illegal connections.

Titus Managing Director Harun Or Rashid Mollah told reporters that several additional installations were also found during the raid at Shinepukur Ceramics. The campaign is not over yet. The campaign will continue tomorrow (today) as well. Regarding the penalty of Tk 17 crore, he said that the accounting has not been completed yet. This question is not correct. It will be finally known tomorrow.

Incidentally, Shinepukur Ceramics is a company of Beximco Group. Beximco Founder and Vice Chairman Salman F Rahman. He was former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s adviser on private industry and investment. When the Awami League government collapsed on August 5, he went into hiding. Later, he was arrested by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in a murder case filed at the capital’s Newmarket police station on August 13. He is currently in remand.
