B Mirror Report: The country’s point-to-point inflation rate reached 9.13 percent in February 2026, slightly up from 8.58 percent in January, according to the latest figures released by the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics.
The modest rise in inflation was mainly driven by increases in both food and non-food prices.
BBS data showed that food inflation rose to 9.30 percent in February from 8.29 percent in January. Similarly, non-food inflation also edged up to 9.01 percent, compared to 8.81 percent in the previous month.
The report further indicated that inflation increased slightly in both rural and urban areas during the month, reflecting a general upward trend in the cost of living across the country.
