The people of Bangladesh have expressed strong confidence in Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus and the interim government. This picture emerged from a nationwide survey conducted by the International Republican Institute (IRI).
In the survey conducted by IRI’s Center for Insights in Survey Research, 69% of respondents said Dr. Yunus is doing a good job, while 70% expressed satisfaction with the activities of the interim government.
Johanna Kao, Senior Director for Asia-Pacific at IRI, said, “It is clear that under Dr. Yunus’s leadership, people see the potential for progress. The public’s confidence in him and in the interim government reflects strong expectations for stability, accountability, and reforms.”
The survey also shows that voter interest in the upcoming national election is high. 66% of voters said they are very interested in voting, while another 23% said they are somewhat interested. Additionally, 80% of participants believe the election will be free and fair.
Kao added, “This enthusiasm among Bangladeshis demonstrates how important it is to maintain the reform process and ensure that the election is credible and peaceful.”
IRI regularly conducts public opinion surveys in Bangladesh. These surveys aim to understand people’s perspectives on policy, politics, and governance.
Ahead of the upcoming election, the organization is working to promote responsible and issue-based political engagement.
