The Bangladesh ICT Journalists Forum (BIJF), a registered organization of professional journalists in the information and communication technology (ICT) sector, recently held its Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Presided over by the organization’s President, Naznin Nahar, the AGM took place at the Vision Tower Conference Center in Karwan Bazar, Dhaka. The welcome address was delivered by the organization’s Vice President, Bhuiyan Mohammad Inam Lenin.
General Secretary Sabbir Hasan presented the annual report detailing the organization’s activities over the past year. This included regular monthly meetings of the executive committee, documenting meeting decisions, issuing digital ID cards for all members, and making organizational activities participatory through nine sub-committees. He also highlighted initiatives such as roundtable discussions and public awareness campaigns on national issues like e-waste management, and training programs to enhance members’ skills.
At the beginning of the meeting, a financial report for the years 2019-22, prepared by the ad-hoc committee, was approved by a voice vote to maintain constitutional continuity.
President Naznin Nahar stated that the current executive committee has ensured transparency and accountability in all organizational activities. Members had open opportunities to express their opinions and critique through the group’s Facebook page. The application process for prospective members has been simplified, making it transparent, opinion-based, and constitutional.
