Country’s Export Earnings Grow by 2.01% in First 11 Months of FY24

Bangladesh’s export earnings grew by 2.01 percent in the first eleven months of the current fiscal year 2023-24 (FY24), totaling $51.54 billion, according to data from the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB). This marks an increase from the $50.53 billion earned during the same period in the last fiscal year.

In May alone, export earnings reached $4.07 billion. The apparel sector, which is the largest contributor to the country’s exports, saw earnings rise by 2.86 percent year-on-year, totaling $43.85 billion from July to May in FY24, up from $42.63 billion in the corresponding period of FY23.

Within the apparel sector, knitwear exports amounted to $24.70 billion, reflecting a growth of 6.15 percent. However, woven garment exports experienced a slight decline, dropping by 1.09 percent to $19.14 billion.
