BRAC Bank profit surges 57% in first half of 2026

BRAC Bank’s consolidated net profit rose 57 percent year-on-year to Tk 1,423 crore in the first half of 2026, driven by strong revenue growth, improved efficiency and higher business volumes.

The private commercial bank’s customer deposits increased 25 percent, while loan disbursements grew 18 percent during the January-June period, both surpassing industry averages.

The bank’s consolidated revenue increased 29 percent, supported by higher interest and non-funded income. Earnings per share also climbed to Tk 5.07 from Tk 3.09 a year earlier.

BRAC Bank’s cost-to-income ratio improved to 42 percent from 48 percent, reflecting gains in operational efficiency and digital transformation. Meanwhile, its non-performing loan ratio declined to 2.03 percent from 2.27 percent in December 2025.

As of June 30, the bank’s deposits exceeded Tk 97,000 crore, while loans and advances stood at around Tk 76,000 crore.

Managing Director and CEO Tareq Refat Ullah Khan attributed the strong performance to the bank’s business model, prudent governance and disciplined execution.

BRAC Bank disclosed the results at a virtual earnings call on August 13, attended by local and international investors, analysts and portfolio managers.
