aviation.com.bd organized a Half-Day Practical Learning Tour at Lalbagh Fort, Dhaka, for participants of its Tour Guide Technique & Operation workshops. The field session formed the practical component of the training programme and brought together participants from both the first and second workshop batches.
The practical session was led by Mr. Taufiq Rahman, Founder and Chief Executive of Journey Plus and Secretary General of the PATA Bangladesh Chapter. During the tour, participants observed and practiced key aspects of professional tour guiding, including destination interpretation, visitor engagement, group management, communication techniques, and site presentation.
The programme was designed to provide participants with an opportunity to apply concepts learned during the classroom sessions in a real heritage tourism environment. Lalbagh Fort was selected as the venue to facilitate practical learning on heritage interpretation and visitor experience.

Speaking during the session, Mr. Taufiq Rahman said, “A professional tour guide should possess not only destination knowledge but also effective communication skills and the ability to engage visitors through meaningful interpretation. Practical exposure is an important part of developing these competencies.”
Speaking on the occasion, Harunur Rashid, AvMP, Founder and CEO of aviation.com.bd, said, “The practical learning tour was planned as an integral part of the workshop so that participants could relate classroom learning to field experience. Such exposure helps participants better understand the responsibilities and expectations of the profession.”
The organizers expressed their appreciation to Mr. Taufiq Rahman for facilitating the practical session and sharing his industry experience with the participants.
Acknowledging the organizations that supported the workshops, the organizers thanked M360ICT, which served as the Venue Partner for the first workshop, and Travel Canvas, which joined as the Event Support Partner for the second workshop. The organizers noted that collaboration among industry stakeholders contributes to professional skill development initiatives within Bangladesh’s tourism sector.
The practical learning tour marked the completion of the current Tour Guide Technique & Operation training programme. According to the organizers, additional workshops, practical learning sessions, and industry-focused training programmes are being planned to support the continued development of skilled tour guides in Bangladesh.
