Bank Asia doubles authorized capital to Tk 3,000 cr

Bank Asia PLC has doubled its authorized capital from Tk 1,500 crore to Tk 3,000 crore, following approval and certification from the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms (RJSC).

According to information disclosed by the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the increase raises the bank’s authorized number of ordinary shares from 150 crore to 300 crore, while the face value of each share remains unchanged at Tk 10.

The bank said the capital increase has been formally approved by the RJSC. Following the approval, necessary amendments have also been made to Clause 5 of the Memorandum of Association and Article 6 of the Articles of Association, which have likewise been certified by the registrar.

Meanwhile, Bank Asia reported a decline in earnings for the first half of 2026.

For the January–June period, earnings per share (EPS) fell 16% to Tk 1.77 from Tk 2.11 in the corresponding period of the previous year.

In the second quarter (April–June), the bank posted an EPS of Tk 0.86, down from Tk 0.91 a year earlier, representing a decline of about 5%.

As of June 30, 2026, Bank Asia’s net asset value per share (NAVPS) stood at Tk 26.92.
