Robi Axiata PLC has posted a more than fivefold increase in net profit over the five years since its listing on the country’s stock market, driven by improved operational efficiency and cost optimisation despite only modest revenue growth.
The telecom operator shared the information at an event in Dhaka on Tuesday marking the fifth anniversary of its stock market listing.
According to the company, net profit increased from Tk 180 crore in 2021 to Tk 937 crore in 2025. During the same period, annual revenue rose from Tk 8,142 crore to Tk 9,992 crore, while operating profit increased from Tk 3,308 crore to Tk 4,979 crore.
Robi’s earnings per share (EPS) climbed from Tk 0.30 to Tk 1.30 over the period. Dividend per share increased to Tk 1.80, while the dividend payout ratio improved from 5% to 17.5%.
The company also strengthened its market position by capturing 64.6% of the more than six million new mobile subscribers added to Bangladesh’s telecom industry between 2021 and 2025. As a result, Robi’s subscriber market share rose from 29.6% to 30.8%, while its revenue market share increased from 29.3% to 31.3%.
Data services remained a key growth driver. In the fourth quarter of 2025, Robi held a 43.1% share of the country’s mobile data market. By the first half of 2026, 79% of its subscribers were mobile internet users, with 91% using 4G services. Data now contributes 44% of the company’s total revenue, while 54% of customer recharges are made through digital channels.
Speaking at the event, Robi Managing Director and CEO Ziad Sathara said artificial intelligence will play an increasingly important role in the company’s future growth. He added that strong corporate governance and a robust data governance framework have supported the company’s consistent performance while ensuring customer data privacy and the ethical use of AI.
