DSE issues FIX certification to 11 new brokerage houses

B Mirror Report: The Dhaka Stock Exchange PLC (DSE) has taken another major step in its digital transformation initiative by granting Financial Information Exchange (FIX) Certification to 11 additional brokerage houses.

According to a press release issued today, the certification enables these brokerage firms to bypass the exchange’s standard trading interface and operate their own independent Order Management Systems (OMS) through Application Programming Interface (API) connectivity.

By integrating with the Broker Hosted Order Management System (BHOMS) framework, the newly certified firms can now connect directly with the bourse’s NASDAQ Matching Engine. This system allows brokerages to provide both institutional and retail investors with a more advanced trading experience, featuring reduced latency, faster order execution, and customized trading interfaces.

The 11 brokerage houses that received the FIX Certification are:

  • F. Management Company Ltd
  • Akij Capital Management Ltd
  • Amar Securities Ltd
  • Commerce Bank Securities and Investment Ltd
  • Mona Financial Consultancy and Securities Ltd
  • Premier Bank Securities Ltd
  • Prilink Securities Ltd
  • Pubali Bank Securities Ltd
  • Remons Investment and Securities Ltd
  • Skyline Securities Ltd
  • United Securities Ltd

The certificate awarding ceremony was held today at the DSE Multipurpose Hall, where Nuzhat Anwar, Managing Director of DSE, formally handed over the certificates to representatives of the brokerage houses.

The event was attended by senior officials of the exchange, including Chief Operating Officer Mohammad Asadur Rahman (FCS), Chief Technology Officer Dr. Md. Asifur Rahman, General Manager of ICT Division Md. Tariqul Islam, and Deputy General Manager Hasanul Karim.

Speaking at the ceremony, Managing Director Nuzhat Anwar highlighted that DSE began its strategic initiative to introduce API-based BHOMS integration in 2020 as part of its broader modernization efforts. She said the certification process ensures that the independent systems developed by brokerage firms remain fully compatible with the exchange’s core trading infrastructure, ensuring market stability and efficient trade execution.

Since the launch of the project, progress has continued steadily. So far, 76 brokerage houses have applied for API connectivity with the exchange. Among them, 58 firms have already received FIX Certification, including the latest 11 recipients.

Following certification, 44 brokerage houses have successfully launched their own OMS platforms through API integration, marking significant progress in the exchange’s move toward a more technologically advanced trading environment.
