5,000 tons of diesel coming to Bangladesh from India via pipeline

B Mirror Report: To keep the country’s fuel reserves at a normal level and ensure uninterrupted supply, the process of importing 5,000 tons of diesel from India has begun. This diesel is coming from the Numaligarh Refinery in Assam, India.

Muhammad Morshed Hossain Azad, General Manager of the Trade and Operations Department of Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC), confirmed this information today.

He stated that the pumping of the diesel has already started. By Tuesday, this diesel will reach Bangladesh through the pipeline. The government has taken this urgent initiative to maintain normal fuel reserves and ensure continuous supply.

Earlier, to address the fuel crisis, on Sunday, Indian High Commissioner Pranay Verma formally proposed to Bangladesh’s Finance Minister Ameer Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury to bring an additional 50,000 tons of diesel over the next four months through the Bangladesh-India pipeline.
