B Mirror Report: The country’s stock market experienced a bearish trend during the past week (April 26–30), with declines in share and unit prices leading to a fall in key indices and overall market capitalization.
According to the weekly review of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), prices increased for 117 listed companies, while 25 saw declines and 246 remained unchanged during the week.
At the end of the week, the DSE’s total market capitalization stood at Tk 6,85,118 crore, down from Tk 6,87,550 crore in the previous week. This marks a decrease of Tk 2,432 crore over the period.
Market analysts attributed the downturn to a lack of strong investor participation and continued selling pressure across major sectors.
