B Mirror Report: Md. Anwar Shahid has been elected as the President of the Bangladesh Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BMCCI) for the 2026–2027 term, while Syed Moinuddin Ahmed has been elected as the Secretary General. Other Members of the Board, including the Office Bearers, elected are Senior VP, M. A. Bakar, VP, Shaikh Bashir Ahmed Mamun, VP, Md. Arfatur Rahman (Apel), Joint Secretary General: Md. Mamunur Rahman, Joint Secretary General: M Mahmudur Rashid, Treasurer, Ahmed Kabir, Director, Dr. Lokiat Ullah, Director, Engr. Mohammad Badrul Hassan, Director, Md. Shahjahan Shaju, Director, Md. Faizul Alam, Director, Jobayer Ahmed, Director, Mohammed Shahjahan, Director, Abu Hena Mastafa Kamal and Director, Kazi Fahad Mostafa.
With extensive experience in business leadership, trade development, and international collaboration, Mr. Shahid will lead the Chamber into a new phase of strategic growth and impact, the BMCCI Board said while announcing the successful completion of its election.
The newly elected Board of Directors brings a renewed vision to further strengthen Bangladesh–Malaysia economic relations. The Board aims to expand bilateral trade and facilitate investment opportunities, promote collaboration in the Halal industry, support SMEs in accessing international markets, enhance member services and engagement, and strengthen policy advocacy and institutional partnerships.
Anwar Shahid said “BMCCI is a result-driven chamber, and the newly elected Board is committed to fostering stronger economic ties between Bangladesh and Malaysia and contributing to sustainable business development through innovation, partnership, and strategic engagement.” The new board extended its sincere appreciation to the outgoing Board for their valuable contributions and leadership, further straightening foundation for the future.
