PM chairs meeting on launching ‘Farmer Card’

B Mirror Report: Prime Minister Tarique Rahman today chaired an inter-ministerial meeting on the introduction of the “Farmer Card” initiative, aimed at ensuring fair prices for agricultural produce grown by farmers.

The meeting was held at the Prime Minister’s special conference room at the Cabinet Division in the Bangladesh Secretariat in the capital.

Prime Minister’s Press Secretary Saleh Shibly confirmed the matter to media, saying the Prime Minister presided over the meeting where senior officials from the concerned ministries were present.

The proposed Farmer Card programme is intended to streamline support for farmers and help them receive fair value for their crops, along with easier access to government services and benefits.
